Library and Information Center
Housed independently, the library has separate reading,
and reference sections. The library resources have been computerized with e-lib
software. It has acquired more than 32,000 volumes with the latest
publication in commerce, business management, language and literature and
general reference books pertaining to research, competitive examinations like
BSRB, CA. ICWAI, ACS, MBA, MCA, IAS, KAS, SSC, Railway Commission and Defense
Academy etc.

There is a special section for providing current knowledge of events
where the students / staff have access to a number of dailies, academic and
professional journals, and general magazines volumes.
The college library
will be kept open on all the working days from 10 -00 am to 5-00 pm,
except on Saturdays, when the library works between 10-00am to 2-00 pm.
Students are advised to use the library books with the greatest care and
not to cause damage to the books.
National Service Scheme
NSS
National Service Scheme units of our college conduct various
activities such as seminars on topics like personality development. Awareness on
drugs, aids, blood donation. Many of our college volunteers have participated in
RD parade at the state lever and the national level.
NSS also conducts
programs such as planting trees, adoption of villages, blood donation camps,
etc, in addition to regular annual camps, usually held in villages, for 10
days.
National Cadet Corps
It is the biggest youth movement in
India which was started in the year 1948. The aims of NCC are:
1. To
develop qualities of leadership, character, comradeship, spirit of sportsmanship
and ideal of
service.
2. To create a ready force of
disciplined and trained man power in military service which could be
of
assistance to the country during national emergency
3.
To provide training for students with a view to developing leadership qualities
and officer like
qualities, thus enabling them to obtain
commission in the armed forces.
NCC was started in our college In 1967.
Every year 50 cadets will be enrolled in NCC and the total strength is
restricted to 100 cadets. Cadets can attend various camps like army attachment,
national integration and RD parade camps, in addition to these, adventurous
activities like trekking, cycling etc, will form part of our program to
infuse integrity, positive attitude and character.




Ladies Hostel and Multi - Gym
There is a ladies hostel, managed by National
Education Society. Girl students can make us of this
facility.


Management Club
A management club is formed every year. The membership of
the club is restricted only to student studying B. B. M. the Management Club
will carry out special activities for management students like seminars, guest
lectures by charted accountants and management games and so
on.
Co-Operative Society
The college has a co-operative society run
by teachers as well as students. The main purpose of the society is not only to
supply writing and reading materials at reduced rates but also to provide the
students a practical approach in commerce and management areas. The
co-operative society has also taken the responsibility of publishing and
distributing question banks, ledgers, and skill development books. The society
will be kept open to the students on all working days between 4 and 5
pm
Sports and Games
Besides imparting excellent commerce and management
education to the students, the college also encourages extra-curricular
activities and sports and games. The college has provided excellent sports and
games opportunities for the students for their all-round developments. It has a
large playground for football, cricket, hockey, kho-kho, and indoor facilities
for judo, wrestling and table tennis. It also provides a well-equipped gymnasium
with multi gym facility.
Certificate Courses
ATNCC, will be offering Short-term
courses in the evenings both to the students who have passed the PUC examination
and to the general public and employees as part of its societal responsibility.
These courses will offer hands - on experience with emphasis on practice, so
that when a student completes these courses, he will be far more confidant and
well-equipped to fit into the job. These courses which will be held in the
evenings are
a.Spoken English and Communication skills
b.Company
Secretaryship and Office Management.
c.Internet web designing and
Programming in visual Basic.
d.Basic computerized
accounting.
Cultural Activities
Cultural activities provide exposure to innate talents of
students. Students can actively participate and conduct cultural programmes
through commerce and management clubs. Separate committees will function
under the guidance of teachers.Management events/ guest lectures are also
arranged in both the club.


Computer and Networking Lab
A well - equipped computer lab is provided
to the college students. It has 100 computers with NT Network Lab. internet
facilities will be provided at www.atnccshimoga.org website. Faculty and
students can access on-line resources through UGC - Infonet based NLIST for
their studies and research activities and alos can download and take print outs
at minimum charges.
